Colin Self shares full length video for “leminscate”

As I touch your hand once again, I know what i believe.

At last, Colin Self shares the full length video for “leminscate,” underscoring their new EP, and uniting the four parts of their opera seria of the same name.

“leminscate” is a broad, ambitious vision from Colin, utilizing a diverse palette including ancient languages and glitched-out electronics to realize their vision. The greek and latin roots of the word translate to “decorated with ribbons,” echoing Colin’s search for beauty through hardship.

The full video for “leminscate” premieres today at Paper Magazine. Although a vibrant statement, it is but a taste of what’s to come from Colin.

Discovery Zone Shares New Video "Operating System" From Quantum Web

Today Discovery Zone, the alias of New York / Berlin based artist JJ Weihl, shares a new video for “Operating System” from her latest album Quantum Web. Animated by Pacôme Henry, “Operating System” tells the story of a rebellious computer folder that defies its destined purpose and embarks on a journey through different layers of reality, questioning the authenticity of its own existence. “Is it truly alive or just following code?”

Oliver Coates - Throb, shiver, arrow of time - Out Now!

In the world today, Oliver Coates’ new album Throb, shiver, arrow of time. Available in “standard” and limited vinyl editions, import cd (from Plancha), and everywhere that music is served.

Between making skins n slime and Throb, shiver, arrow of time, Oliver has completed multiple original scores for feature films, including Charlotte Wells’ 2022 triumph Aftersun. Whether or not composing so extensively for film has shaped Oliver’s creative process any differently, he’s never, in our time working with him, settled for an end presentation that doesn’t completely embody his vision. That said, new layers appear in the uncompromising vision of Throb, shiver, arrow of time; a deepening of all senses, a new relationship with narrative, a complexity of sound collapsing and rebuilding.

It’s easy to lean into the “cinematic quality” of Oliver’s music. but remove his work in that field from the equation, and you’ll hear an artist reconsidering the mechanisms and meanings of their craft, intimately exploring sound and then distancing themselves from it. Both serendipitously and purposefully conceiving music which the listener is allowed to experience with emotional contour. an invitation to “free us from the flatness of everything,” as Oliver told us.

We’ve listened to this album so many times, and it still transports me to a different place with each listen. We’re humbled to have this collaboration, and over so many distances, Oliver.

Oliver Coates Shares New Single + Visual for "Radiocello"

Listen to the silence, let it ring on. Ahead of this Friday’s release of Throb, shiver, arrow of time, the forthcoming album from Oliver Coates, we share a final single in the form of “Radiocello,” accompanied by a visual from Jasper Baydala.

“Radiocello” is a freefall through guttural shivers, the ache of a drone-heavy downpour casting Oliver’s familiar palette of modulated matter into fervent new shimmers. a shift occurs as the strain subsides, allowing siren-like arrows to pierce silted storms of sound, as if they were signals swept into a cyclone. In Oliver’s words, the music “acts like weather, weathering the listener, or as flames licking at the sides of objects”

Throb, shiver, arrow of time is available to order here and shipping from RVNG’s Brooklyn HQ now.

Dialect's Atlas of Green - Available Now!

In the world today, Atlas of Green, the fifth full-length album from musician and composer Andrew PM Hunt, Dialect.

If you’ve followed RVNG or dialect in recent years, you might know the origin story of Under~Between, Andrew’s beloved debut on the label in 2021. Whereas Under~Between was a cumulation after years of dialogue, atlas of green appeared almost from a silence.

This silence wasn’t a “I don’t care what you think, I’ll do as I please” silence. Quite the contrary, as several hundred (thousands?) emails and calls have been exchanged over the years, some cherished time shared when our paths have been fortunate enough to converge, and we’ve simply settled into the comfort and confidence of a well-lived and appreciated collaboration. So, for Andrew to set forth on the creation of Atlas of Green with little more than some encouragement to make something, symbolized an almost ascetic vow to return with music once it had fully formed and matched his expectation.

Suffice it to say, Atlas of Green defied all of expectations when it arrived. There was some clue where Andrew was headed with this work, having seen him perform early versions in the fall of 2023 (almost a year ago to date). But the end presentation of the album, complete with andrew’s backdrop on green, Atlas’s protagonist, was jarring on first experience, both in how different it was from his prior work and how astounding it was in its creative evolution and depth. Whether you’re familiar with andrew’s past work, or just now being acquainted, the immediacy of atlas of green is undeniable in its musical and emotional magnetism.

We couldn’t be more honored to serve Andrew’s vision, and excited for you to experience Atlas of Green. Limited rtist and standard vinyl, Japanese Import CD (via Plancha), and digital editions are shipping now. We’ll see you on the other side.
