Isik Kural Shares "Motorcycles and Cherry Wind" and "Under the Canopy"

"Motorcycles and Cherry Wind" and "Under the Canopy" are the latest travelogues from Isik Kural’s new album Motorcycles and Cherry Wind, en route for October 30, 2026.

The title track is a tender stroll through memory, gathering the carefree warmth of an autumn afternoon in Marrakech into floral, fleeting memories. Finger-picked guitar and airy string instrumentation evoke an ephemeral scrapbook of Kural’s travels: the sweet fragrance drifting in the wind, the sunny chatter of passersby, the vibrant fruit delicately piled on market stalls. Soon, the piece’s circular harmonies dissipate, a farewell to this honey-hued recollection.

Next, “Under the Canopy” is a song written in transit. Set against a rain-soaked afternoon in Glasgow, Kural captures the quiet melancholy that surrounds every journey through a waterfall of chiming synths, the vibrations of a departing train, and muffled station announcements bleeding through a crackling speaker. Melodies and field recordings synthesize to highlight the liminal space between arrivals and departures, a poignant reflection on the fleeting connections made between greetings and goodbyes.
