New York City's under and above ground nightlife of the past 15 years. While the world went grunge in the early 90s, New York stayed culture sick infecting Justine with more than teenlove for the monolith clubs she snuck into (\u003cb\u003ePalladium, Limelight, Pyramid\u003c\/b\u003e) and shows (\u003cb\u003eMy Bloody Valentine\u003c\/b\u003e, \u003cb\u003eNitzer Ebb\u003c\/b\u003e, \u003cb\u003eSiouxsie\u003c\/b\u003e). This was the New York City she was waiting for.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn following years Justine turned club patron to matron promoting ground shaking late 90s \/ early 00s parties at gone but not forgotten Manhattan institutes like \u003cb\u003eTiswas\u003c\/b\u003e, \u003cb\u003eConey Island High\u003c\/b\u003e, and \u003cb\u003eLife\u003c\/b\u003e. At these parties Justine turned a growing record collection into her first DJ sets. Justine�s audience would only grow (and grow crazier) at longstanding DJ gigs at \u003cb\u003eMaking Time\u003c\/b\u003e and, most notably, \u003cb\u003eMotherfucker\u003c\/b\u003e. With MF, she found her place as NYC's most celebrated and hard working promoter and DJ of the new club era.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThough some of Justine's audience evolved most remained the same. She still had a party to throw but obscurer songs from her own musical evolution started appearing in her sets. After the 808s \u0026amp; 909s, \u003cb\u003eDelia \u0026amp; Gavin\u003c\/b\u003e sedate the \u003cb\u003eChic\u003c\/b\u003e Strings before exposing Visconti's on \u003cb\u003eBowie\u003c\/b\u003e's 1984.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt goes from dark to darkest when Justine builds the \u003cb\u003eCrass\u003c\/b\u003e Walls into crucial \u003cb\u003eDeath In June\u003c\/b\u003e and \u003cb\u003eChristian Death\u003c\/b\u003e tracks and a full cut of \u003cb\u003eGoblin\u003c\/b\u003e's Suspiria. You can almost feel the glass breaking in said movie's opening sequence before Justine rescues us with a Madcap love song and \u003cb\u003eThe Zombies\u003c\/b\u003e fade into a the end score from Truffaut's 400 Blows.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is the story Justine D: the starry-eyed teenager, the after hour wanderer, the bleeding heart of a community, and the constant believer in good music.
