South African visual artist and filmmaker Sean Metelerkamp, best known for his videos for Death Grips and Die Antwoord, contributes a hazy, technicolor complement to Michele Mercure’s brief yet anthemic ambient song, “Antarctica”, released in November 2018 as part of her archival compilation, Beside Herself.

Known for her raw, ecstatic, and boundary pushing live solo performances, Ka Baird debuts her new album Respires in this special one-off performance. Presented across the 40-channel 3D audio system at Future Space, the audience will be fully surrounded by her intricate and visceral compositions.
In collaboration with Dave & Gabe, custom multi-channel effects have been created enabling her to process and control her voice live through the sound system. Learn more here.
Ahead of Respires’ release, Ka Baird travels across Europe for a month starting next week, returning home to Brooklyn for a special 40-channel presentation of the album at Future Space on Thursday, November 7.

serenitatem, the fifteenth installment of RVNG’s intergenerational FRKWYS series, joined Visible Cloaks with Yoshio Ojima and Satsuki Shibano, trailblazers of the Japanese environmental / avant garde music scene in the 1980s and 90s.
The four musicians met in Tokyo at Sounduno Studios in December 2017, at the tail end of Visible Cloaks’ first Japanese tour, to commence work on serenitatem. Following the album’s release this past April, the quartet performed serenitatem live in Japan for the first time this June and will tour Europe together this fall.

Following the US debut of their new live show at Durham, North Carolina’s Moogfest in April, Craig and Cassell Webb, Craig’s creative and life partner, will play Ambient Church at The First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Los Angeles on Friday, May 24.
